The Rhode Island Turnpike & Bridge Authority is the tolling authority for the state of Rhode Island. They were responsible for the construction of the Claiborne Pell Bridge, open in 1969. The company receives no tax dollars, since all expenses are met with the funds received strictly through toll revenues and investment income.
When RITBA implemented EZPass, they encountered a bit of a problem. While residents loved the convenience of recurring payments, RITBA wanted to make sure that their card information was being totally protected. By teaming up with CardConnect, RITBA was able to do just that. We integrated into their pre-existing tolling systems and made it simple for them to store all of their sensitive data in a secure, PCI compliant environment.
